Castorama is a French retailer of tools, supplies, home improvement or decoration. The company was founded in 1969 by Christian Dubois, a French entrepreneur with great ambition. He wanted to create a store where clients could buy tools and supplies to work by themselves instead of asking for a professional expertise. The success was immediate and Castorama is today a subsidiary of Kingfisher since a major buy out in 2002.

Castorama has products references in four categories of market, decoration (paint, curtain, and ground), home improvement (furniture, accessories, household appliances…), the do-it-yourself universe (tools, hardware…) and the garden place (furniture, barbecues, pools…)

In 2012, the turnover of Castorama was about 3.3M€ thanks to 103 stores in France. The company hires around 12600 employees and sells 50.000 product references.
